From the far away hills of Piedmont, Italy to the inviting landscapes of Northern California, the legacy of fine organic grape-growing techniques continues on in each bottle of BARRA of Mendocino wine. Following in the footsteps of his father, Antonio Barra, and his maternal grandfather, Guiseppe Rovera (who immigrated to Mendocino County from Piedmont, Italy in 1906), Charlie Barra began farming grapes in the mid 40’s. And now, at 81 years young, Charlie still farms his organic vineyards with the goal of producing rich, distinguishable fruits that “shine through” in every glass of BARRA of Mendocino wine.
Set on 50 acres of beautiful vineyard surroundings planted with Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel, the BARRA of Mendocino winery features a sprawling 5,000 square foot tasting room with 40 foot ceilings, a circular tasting bar, indoor fountain and spacious gardens for outdoor picnics. We’re open daily, and look forward to pouring you our award-winning wines made from certified organic grapes.
